Work out to pull down...

Metabolism as one of my teacher in my school said it as the burning of cells and calories and it varies from person to person. This she stated because she overheard a kid teasing a fatso and was explaining him how his metabolism was faster than fatso's. Anyways...sorry .. fatso.. about the "fatso" thing ..if u remember the incident.. since I cant recollect your name. Now whenever anybody looks at me, they are like "Ahem... Sajith, kya ho gaya hai thume.. Were you on a non-stop pizza eating spree for 5 years?" How I hope that teacher comes to my rescue and spank them.

I see some of my colleagues as they hog cheese, gulab jamuns, cheese nan and tons of them and wear jeans with 28 waistline. Sometimes feel like grab that metabolism thing from them and fill it into me. Now dont be under the impression that I am an Adnam Sami with 58 inches waistline. Its just that I can see a steady increase in my weight for 2 years now and I call it the "The Post Job Effect".

I try all possible things like jog for two days and see in the mirror and say..Oh yes! My calf muscles looks tighter. Do two sets of crunches and say "Huh! Where is my tummy ? There it is flat as "Tom run by a road roller" in the Tom and Jerry show." Poor Tom, Sometimes I pity that poor cat, how much he suffers to drive that mouse away.. anyways lets get back to my extra pounds thing. Self extolment, I should say and then end up having cheese sandwich with extra cheese.

Join a health club one said, I said how bugging. My company said, all your health club expenses will be reimbursed. The next minute, Google-> "Health Clubs in pune". There I am every morning burning out calories for two hours and believe me its fun. You know you are to the road to a better you, a better looking you. Rest of the day you feel rejuvenated and energetic. Shouldnt forget to mention the health freak damsels that comes there to sweat out to be better damsels :))

Now I dont crib about the metabolism thing and accept it as a help in disguise, or else I wouldnt have been there sweating out looking at myself in the mirror and smile.

[P/S. Seriously guys, that smile is the acknowledgment of me getting back to shape and not to any damsels out there :))... ]

Years later....

Once there was a kid who had a crush on a lovely girl in her class. He used to sit just behind her. Something special about this girl. Some attitude that she had that attracted him. Her sleeves rolled up with a tomboy attitude, yet beautiful. The way she spoke - slang, yet very charming. She had something in her but not sure what. Pondered the whole day to to talk to her, tried very hard but to no avail. His dear friends used to tell him that she also wanted to go ahead and be friends with him, but how scared he was to initiate things.

Done with the school, high school and college but a crush is a crush and it stayed forever. He always had a feeling that he should have gone ahead and initiated things. Was it an unsaid love, he feared. Got a decent job and then one fine day he saw her in a community in the internet. Tried his luck and sent her a message and checked if he recognised him, he is a lot more bolder nowadays.. learnt from his lessons. And the next day came the reply "Why didnt you ever talk to me?".

My dear friends know who that kid is.

A rainy afternoon

Its Saturday, a day to laze around for a software engineer. Its been 3 days raining outside, the rain God has been too generous. A river flows through this city, a sewer I should say to aptly describe it during the non monsoon days, but a little better nowadays, resembles a river flowing with great vigour to some extent, but I have no intention of going in for a swim though.

I have plugged in my MP3 player as I look out of the window. Its playing "Its raining men', I change the song , its already raining outside and cant bear more of "rains" in my MP3 list. Its half past two and I see 2 sombre looking students puddling back from school. Their face says "3-days- of-rain-and-no-sign-of-school-being-closed". Pity those poor kids, ask me how much I used to hate school. This is the age when you can hit your most hated neighbour with ur bicycle and escape by a mere "Oops .. Sorry Wrong Aunty..." and instead of being into so much of productive activities, its school that they have to attend... Poor kids!. There is an altercation between two women with empty buckets and as they fight the rain god is doing its work of filling up their buckets and soon they will be on their way with the rain water. Good e.g. of harvesting rain water and saved the tap water as well.

I had bread , jam and cheese for breakfast.. had to use the reserves left in the home... couldnt go out for breakfast and as I write this here comes a loud yawn reminding me of my sweet saturday siesta. So I am off to bed for a while and then dress up for our companies anniversary party. Its playing "Aadat" by Jal (I love this band..) perfect one for a lazy rainy afternoon and a nap.
